Colossians 3 The Message (MSG)
3 1-2 So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.
This life that we live can be difficult and trying. For my life personally it has been one trial after another. It is so easy to get caught up in the life of dumbness. For most people it is easier for them to hang out if the friends that let them do what they want for no real consequences. I once heard a youth pastor of mine say, show me your friends and I will show you your future. That can’t be more true, the people that we hang around the most are the ones that have the most influence on our life decisions. If you want to do something dumb then hang around dumb people. Simple as that, they won’t talk you out of it. They will keep saying, do it, do it, nothing bad will happen. That is how we are though, we do things and don’t think there is any long term effect from it. But the Bible is clear that your decisions do have consequences. Romans tells us that all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory and the wages of that sin is death. My prayer is that I will continue to look to God who can help me make the right choices and not to this world. The world will fail me, but will never fail.
